20 second tip: Organising your groups

Once you've created a number of groups on niid.to, you can organise how the tabs are displayed simply by clicking on a tab and dragging left or right.

If you have more than 5 groups, you can scroll left or right with your mouse wheel to view the extra tabs, or use the arrows next to the '+' button to scroll between tabs.

To delete a group, select the relevant tab and hit the 'delete this group' button at the bottom of your list. If there are any niids within the group that you wish to keep, you can transfer them to another group using the dropdown menu, or choose to delete them all by checking the check-box.

New feature: Groups

Today sees the launch of a new feature on niid.to - groups.

You can now organise your niids into groups - for example you can create a group called 'movies' and fill it with a list of films that you want to see.

To create a new group, hit the 'Your List' tab on the homepage. At the top of the list is the new groups bar.

Hit the '+' button to create a new group. Give it a name in the popup window that appears. Click 'Create Group'.

To add niids to that group, just enter them in the large box at the top of the page as normal.

To transfer existing niids to the new group, click 'Options' on that niid, hit 'Groups', select the group you want to transfer to from the dropdown, then click 'save and close' to finish. Done!

The groups feature of niid.to is something that we have great ideas for, so keep watching the blog and our twitter feed for new updates. twitter.com/niidto

You can now add your to-do's via Twitter!

We're pleased to announce an exciting new feature - the ability to add your to-do's direct from your favourite twitter client.

To start using this you need to connect your niid.to and twitter accounts. If you've not already set this up, you firstly need to start following us on twitter - niidto. Next enter your twitter username on your niid.to settings page. We'll then send you a 5 digit code in a twitter direct message that you need to enter below your twitter username on the niid.to settings page. Your direct message may take up to a minute to arrive. Once you've done that, you're now ready to go!

Here's how you add a niid via Twitter:

Send us your niid in a direct message, you can use the shorthand format 'd niidto message' to do this. See the image below as an example:

We'll then send you back a direct message to confirm your niid has been added to your to-do list, as well as a link to jump straight back into the niid.to dashboard to set any reminders if you need them.

We really hope you find this feature useful, as ever please send any comments / feedback using our feedback tab on the right, or drop us an email.

Thanks,

the niid.to team.

Invite Friends to niid.to

niid.to is a lot more fun when you have all your friends on it too. By clicking on the 'invite' link from the main menu, you can access the invite tool. Simply enter your friends email addresses and add a message and niid.to will send out an invite code to them.

If you use Gmail or Yahoo Mail, click the logo, enter the username and password you use for that service, and niid.to will look-up your contacts. You can then choose from that list any contacts you wish to invite. If they're already on niid.to, you'll be given the option to add them as a friend when you've sent your invites.

Welcome to niid.to

Well hello, and welcome to niid.to!

We're in a proper private beta stage as of today, and are releasing invites over various channels steadily so we can monitor how everything stands up. We've been testing with a small group of users for a few months now, taking on feedback and making various tweaks.

We're very hopeful that you'll find niid.to a fun, useful and productive tool - and that it will quickly become an application that you use everyday. We're confident that niid.to has a balance of being super-easy-to-use yet has all the features that you'll actually need from a to-do tool.

Rather than explaining all the features right now, you should jump right in and join niid.to - you'll need an invite, so if you don't have one drop us an email - hello [at] niid.to - and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Keep an eye out on this blog for more features as they are added. You can also follow us on twitter - http://twitter.com/niidto

All the very best,

Tom & James
